The Importance of Having YOUR Own PERSONAL Relationship With God

And the LORD God formed a man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. (Genesis 2:7 NKJV)

God formed man out of dust and breathed the breath of life in him and he became a living breathing
human. Now God decides to do something else with the man that He created.

Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to tend and keep it. And
the Lord God commanded the man, saying, "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall
surely die."
And the LORD God said, "It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him." Out of the ground the Lord formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them.  And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was it's name.  So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field.  But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him.  And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in it's place.  Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.  And Adam said: " This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of man."  Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.  And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed. (Genesis 2:15-25 NKJV)

The Temptation and Fall of Man

Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made.  And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, "You shall not eat of the every tree of the garden?"  And the woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, "You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die."  Then the serpent said to the woman, "You will surely not die.  For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."  So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of it's fruit and ate.  She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.
And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.  Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, "Where are you?"  So he said, "I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself."  And He said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?"  Then the man said, "The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate." (Genesis 3:1-12 NKJV)

Now after reading these scriptures we see clearly that it was Adam that had the relationship with God.  Eve didn't have a personal relationship with God.  Her connection to God was through her husband Adam.  We don't read in Genesis of Eve ever speaking to God directly.  Now this bring to my mind, how interesting that EVE did NOT have the relationship with God, she was NOT communicating with HIM (God) at all and the serpent chose HER to speak to.
Isn't that interesting to you all?  The serpent (the enemy) knew WHO to speak to.  That is how things happen now in the world.  The prince of the air which is satan, knows exactly who to attack.  He knows who is praying and reading the Bible.  He studies your weaknesses and your emotions and that is how he learns how he will attack you.
When the enemy attacks a person that is close to God, the attack is really fierce.  His aim is to get you to doubt God, to diminish your faith and get you to speak contrary to what God has already said.
When the enemy attacks other people that do not have a relationship with God, the attack is much different because these people will react differently and fear gets into their hearts and minds faster.  They are not being led by the Holy Spirit, therefore they will not understand what is really going on in their lives from a spiritual point of view.  They will deal with attacks in the natural.  These are people that do not understand that they are not at war with flesh.  We don't war with flesh! It's all a spiritual battle.  This is why we are to be in constant communication with our Father God.  When we read articles/blogs, watch online sermons, and we read Bible quotes on social media, that is not enough to feed and fill our spirits.  Engaging in those types of activities is not the same as having a personal relationship, where you cast your cares to the Lord.  We NEED real spiritual nourishment that only comes through reading the Word and PRAYER.  Do not live your relationship with God THROUGH anything other than a ONE-ON-ONE personal intimacy with Christ.  The Lord DOES NOT CARE how many sermons we can read or listen to in a day or how many Bible quotes we post or have a screenshot of on our phones, or how many Bible studies/church services we attend (that is all great by the way), He cares about how intimate we are with Him.
We can sit in a church service yelling AMEN every 5 minutes and that will mean nothing if we don't have that personal relationship with Him Monday-Saturday.

Eve was the easiest to deceive and manipulate, because she lacked that personal, intimate relationship with God.  You can sort of say that she was spiritually weak.  The enemy knew that she was the one that could be pushed down the rabbit hole the easiest.

This is another reason why we need to grow our roots DEEP into God's words, and His truths and apply them to our lives.  When we get really deep into God we become stable.  Winds blowing from any direction will not knock us down.  Going to church, and fellowshipping with other believers is great for many reasons, however, we need to remain steady in God.  We have to remain intertwined with Jesus the Vine.  Do not allow anything or anyone to keep you away from Jesus because he is the truth, the way and the life.  No one can come to God if it's not by Jesus.  Anything or anyone that is distracting you from God is not worth having in your life.

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6 NKJV)
"I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser.  Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.  You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.  Abide in Me, and I in you.  As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
I am the vine, you are the branches.  He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.  If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.  If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.  By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. (John 15:1-8 NKJV)

Short Prayer:
Father God we thank You for being such a loving, merciful, kind and graceful Father.  We thank You for being available to us on any occasion, all we need is to call on You and You are faithful to hear us. Father I ask that you continue to guide me and remove from my life any person, or thing that prevents me from being fully surrendered to You.  Remove from me any attitudes that do not conform to Your image, remove everything that is in me that will prevent me from coming to You or listening to Your voice when you are speaking to my spirit.
I ask this in Jesus name. Amen!
